Community Guidelines & Safety
Circles are instructor-led training spaces. A few shared standards keep them respectful, useful, and safe for everyone who trains here.
How we treat each other
- Be respectful. Disagree with ideas, never attack people. No harassment, hate speech, threats, or discrimination of any kind.
- Stay on the mat. Keep discussions relevant to the Circle’s practice and your teacher’s guidance.
- No spam or unsolicited promotion. Don’t advertise other products, services, or Circles without the instructor’s permission.
- Protect privacy. Don’t share other members’ personal information, and don’t repost private Circle content elsewhere.
- Follow each Circle’s own rules. Individual instructors may set additional rules for their space — those apply on top of these guidelines.
Content standards
- Don’t post content that is illegal, sexually explicit, graphically violent, or designed to harm.
- Only post material you created or have the right to share. Respect copyright and instructors’ intellectual property.
- Don’t share dangerous, abusive, or deliberately misleading instruction.
Training & health disclaimer
Martial arts and physical training carry inherent risk of injury. The instruction shared in these Circles is provided for general educational purposes only and is not medical, health, or professional advice.
- Consult a physician before beginning any new exercise, training, or martial-arts program — especially if you have any medical condition, injury, or concern.
- Train within your own ability. Progress gradually, warm up properly, and stop if you feel pain, dizziness, or distress.
- Practice safely. Use appropriate space, equipment, and supervision. Partner work should always be consensual and controlled.
- You take part in any practice, drill, or technique voluntarily and at your own risk.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Martial Man, Circle creators, and instructors are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of this content. Nothing here creates a teacher–student duty of care or a medical relationship.
On health and the internal arts. Many of these practices — qi gong, nei gong, breathwork, meditation and the like — come from long living traditions, and we teach them in that spirit. They’re shared for general wellbeing and personal growth, not as medical treatment, diagnosis, or a cure for any condition, and never as a substitute for professional care. If you’re managing a health condition, are pregnant, or take medication, please talk with your doctor before taking up a new practice.
If you ever feel unwell or experience a medical emergency, stop immediately and seek professional medical help.
Reporting & moderation
You can report a post, comment, or member from anywhere you see it in a Circle. Reports go to that Circle’s instructor and moderators, and serious matters can be escalated to The Martial Man. Instructors may remove content, mute, or remove members who break these guidelines or their Circle’s rules. Content that is repeatedly reported may be hidden automatically pending review.
The essentials
Your use of Circles is also governed by The Martial Man’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Paid Circles are sold by their instructors; billing, trials, and cancellations are handled through your account. Questions or concerns? Contact support.
