About this course
Yan Shou Gong is a Nei Gong system of the Southern Shaolin tradition, historically transmitted only to the most senior monks of the temple. This course, Master Yap Boh Heong's second, presents sets seven through twelve, together with the testing methods and applications for sets one through six.
The system is distinguished by its directness. Where many internal practices require years before their effects become evident, Yan Shou Gong is structured to produce demonstrable internal skill within a comparatively short period. Its methods develop kinetic energy and the mind in parallel, and the grounding, rooting, and centering work running through the sets establishes a sustained awareness of the body in practice.
Instruction proceeds across 64 video lessons. Master Yap teaches each set in detail, then demonstrates the testing methods by which a practitioner confirms that what they are producing is genuine — a component of the tradition rarely made available outside the inner door.
Master Yap Boh Heong is a third-generation master of Southern Shaolin Kung Fu and the son of the late Grandmaster Yap Cheng Hai. Following the passing of Grandmaster Yap Cheng Hai and Grandmaster Chee Kim Thong, he assumed responsibility for the transmission of Yan Shou Gong and now teaches it internationally.
Yan Shou Gong is a traditional practice for health and martial cultivation. It is not medical treatment and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or care. If you have an existing health condition or are recovering from injury, consult a qualified practitioner before beginning.
